At 47 miles per hour, Wahoo are as faster than tuna. In North Carolina, a 40-pound Wahoo is considered a trophy fish.

The fastest fish are Atlantic Blue Marlin (50 mph), Swordfish (60 mph), and Indo-Pacific Sailfish (68 mph).

Mako Shark, Bonefish, and Black Marlin are also considered among the fastest. They are off the list because none of these three have had their speeds verified.

All these fish live in salt rather than fresh water.
